Introduction

Fayette Friends of Animals (FFOA) is a nonprofit animal shelter dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. As we continue to grow and serve our community, we are embarking on a capital campaign to fund the construction of a new state-of-the-art shelter facility. We seek an experienced capital campaign consultant to guide us through this critical initiative and ensure its success.

Project Overview

FFOA is launching a $4-6 million-dollar capital campaign to secure funding for a new facility that will enhance our ability to provide high-quality care for homeless and abandoned animals. The consultant will provide strategic guidance, fundraising expertise, and campaign management support to help FFOA meet its campaign goals.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will provide comprehensive campaign planning and execution support, including but not limited to:

  1. Campaign Feasibility Study
    • Assess the organization’s fundraising capacity and donor base.
    • Conduct stakeholder interviews and surveys to gauge donor interest.
    • Provide recommendations on fundraising goals and strategies.
  2. Campaign Planning
    • Develop a detailed campaign plan with phases, benchmarks, and timelines.
    • Help create messaging, branding, and case for support materials.
    • Identify and cultivate major donors and funding sources.
  3. Fundraising Strategy & Implementation
    • Provide guidance on donor solicitation and stewardship.
    • Support board members, staff, and volunteers in fundraising efforts.
    • Provide input into relevant  fundraising events, grant applications, and major gift solicitations.
  4. Campaign Management & Oversight
    • Track progress against goals and adjust strategies as needed.
    • Provide reports to leadership and the board.

 

Consultant Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading successful capital campaigns
  • Expertise in nonprofit fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grant writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, board members, and community stakeholders.

Proposal Submission Requirements

Interested consultants should submit a proposal that includes:

  1. Cover Letter – A summary of qualifications and interest in the project.
  2. Approach & Methodology – A plan on how the consultant will execute the campaign.
  3. Experience & References – Examples of similar projects and references.
  4. Budget – A cost proposal, including fees, expenses, and payment schedule.

Selection Process

Proposals will be reviewed by FFOA’s leadership team. Finalists may be invited for an interview before the selection is made. The chosen consultant will be notified by July 30th, 2025.
